Hello my friends. What a week this has been. I haven't gotten to paint much, but i've been a buzy bee. For one, i started working with my Dad again. Its the only way i know to get myself to where i want to be, which is to be a full-time illustrator. I got my new website up and running. Its at [link] . I designed it to be mostly for clients. Nothing fancy, just the work.
Once i had that done, i started sending letters to paying publishers, and so far, i have gotten some really good responses. That really surprises me, considering that before the Dark Angel project started taking all of my art time, I would be lucky to hear from 1 out of 10 publishers i sent work too. Now the ratio is about 3 out of 5.
But the real trick will be working laying carpet all day, usually around 10 hours, and being able to come home and meet my art deadlines. So, that is my first goal. After that, it will be to save up enough money to sub stain me for a few weeks, and have enough paying work lined up to meet my bills.
After Christmas my personal goal is to find a place a little bigger than where i live now, and then Carlie will be moving in with me. Right now, Carlie has Strep Throat, and she has been a sick young lady. I took her to the emergency room Wednesday night. Her fever had gotten pretty high, but she is recovering now.
I guess that's it for now.... oh one more thing, I resigned from being the art director for Omegacon. I just don't have time to do it anymore. My art comes first and there is no way i can put the time into Omegacon that it deserves. One other thing about Omegacon, my dad raised me to believe that a man is only good as his word. That was a major factor in my resigning. Peace Out!
